Metalaxyl Resistance of Phytophthora palmivora Causing Durian Diseases in Thailand

نویسندگان

چکیده

Thailand is the leading producer and exporter of durians worldwide. Serious diseases in include root rot, stem fruit which are caused by Phytophthora palmivora, P. nicotianae, Pythium cucurbitacearum, respectively. Thai farmers have applied fungicides for more than 20 years to control but it remains difficult control. Thus, monitoring fungicide-resistance development pathogens important disease management. Pathogens were isolated from naturally infected between 2016 2017 southern Thailand. The sequences internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 5.8S regions rDNA used identification their species. Seventeen out twenty isolates confirmed be palmivora. All tested mycelium-growth sensitivity metalaxyl, azoxystrobin, dimethomorph. results showed that nine resistant metalaxyl with 50% effective concentration (EC50) higher 100 mg L−1. By contrast, all sensitive both azoxystrobin dimethomorph, EC50 < 1 Metalaxyl-resistant not controlled (−25.6% 22.2%) treatment detached leaves ‘Monthong’ durian L−1 prior inoculation, metalaxyl-sensitive moderately metalaxyl-resistant better (33.0% 62.6%). These clearly indicate strains present populations palmivora

Biological Control of Phytophthora palmivora Causing Root Rot of Pomelo Using Chaetomium spp.

Phytophthora diseases have become a major impediment in the citrus production in Thailand. In this study, an isolate of Phytophthora denominated as PHY02 was proven to be causal pathogen of root rot of Pomelo (Citrus maxima) in Thailand. The isolate PHY02 was morphologically characterized and identified as Phytophthora palmivora based on molecular analysis of an internal transcribed spacer rDNA...

Metalaxyl Resistance in Phytophthora infestans: Assessing Role of RPA190 Gene and Diversity Within Clonal Lineages.

Prior work has shown that the inheritance of resistance to metalaxyl, an oomycete-specific fungicide, is complex and may involve multiple genes. Recent research indicated that a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the gene encoding RPA190, the largest subunit of RNA polymerase I, confers resistance to metalaxyl (or mefenoxam) in some isolates of the potato late blight pathogen Phytophthora ...

Negative Chemotaxis of Zoospores of the Fungus Phytophthora palmivora

347 Phytophthora palmivora zoospores are repelled by many low molecular weight cations. This negative chemotactic response occurs at a different threshold concentration for each cation, that for the most effective ion, H+, being 150 ,!AM. The effectiveness of different cations parallels their ionic conductivities, the most active cations having the highest conductivities. It is suggested that t...

LYS12 LysM receptor decelerates Phytophthora palmivora disease progression in Lotus japonicus.

Phytophthora palmivora is a devastating oomycete plant pathogen. We found that P. palmivora induces disease in Lotus japonicus and used this interaction to identify cellular and molecular events in response to this oomycete, which has a broad host range. Transcript quantification revealed that Lys12 was highly and rapidly induced during P. palmivora infection. Mutants of Lys12 displayed acceler...
